First time first place

Year 9 student Deegan Broker took part in his first NZ Youth Mini Stock Championships event at Oxford Speedway and came home with a first placing in the New Zealand Development Group.

ESOL students trip to Wellington

Last Sunday 16 ESOL students, who are mainly former refugees or new New Zealanders, left Nayland College for three days in Wellington.

Pūaha Te Tai Kapa Haka Rōpu receive traditional piupiu

Last night Pūaha Te Tai Whānau hosted a pōwhiri and wānanga at Nayland College to welcome Master Weaver Karl Leonard, who has handcrafted a set of traditional piupiu for the Pūaha Te Tai Kapa Haka Rōpu to wear in upcoming competitions.

Behind the scenes for ‘Carousel’ – literally

Many students are involved in this year’s exciting production of ‘Carousel.’ The whole school is aware of our talented cast getting ready to perform. Yet with the show getting closer to performance, our backstage crews are also preparing intensely. Student Journalist Finn Kerby-Pinguet reports.

Nayland has great success at Shakespeare Festival

With five local schools involved, Nayland College students received nine of the sixteen awards available.

Nayland College confirmed enrolment zone

The Ministry of Education has confirmed and finalised the enrolment scheme for Nayland College which will take effect from 2 April 2021.

Nayland sailors win trophy at Top of the South Sailing Regatta

Sailing at Nayland College has grown in strength and numbers over the past few years and with Covid cancelling the regatta last year, students in the silver fleet were delighted to not only race but come home with a trophy!

Rehearsals ramping up for upcoming musical

Hot off a Broadway revival, the Rogers and Hammerstein classic ‘Carousel’ will be performed by a group of Nayland College and Broadgreen Intermediate students at the Theatre Royal from 19-22 May. You don’t want to miss it!
