Information for International Students

Nayland College is acknowledged for its excellent support of International students. The winning of the New Zealand Education Excellence in Pastoral Care Award is a testament to the care students receive from the International team, Nayland College and the many supportive homestay families in our Community.

It is our philosophy that when a student is happy they will learn. We are a supportive school. Students are treated as individuals and excellent relationships are developed with teachers. At our International Student Office, the Director continually monitors and supports students and their academic progress. A student advisor assists with personal problems and our school counsellors provide ongoing care for students who require trained counsellors.

When students come to study in New Zealand, education providers have an important responsibility to ensure that those students are well informed, safe and properly cared for.

To support this, the New Zealand Government has developed the The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021, which was amended in 2019. To get more in formation on The Code of Practice click here
