Ngā Manu Kōrero 2024
On Friday 24 May, seven schools from across the region participated in the 2024 Ngā Manu Kōrero Māori Speech Competition.
The Science of Rongoā
Since the start of this year, Year 10 students have been able to choose different ‘flavoured’ modules within each of their core subjects. Last week the ‘Human and Environmental Health’ Science class learnt how to make their own kawakawa balm, a natural antiseptic used by Māori for generations.

Students find their way to Kaiteriteri
This week, waka hourua (traditional twin hulled sailing boats) converged on Kaiteriteri for the first time in over one thousand years with the aim to pass on some ancient Māori and Pacific wayfinding knowledge to school students from around the rohe.
A&P Show End of Term Celebration
Friday lunchtime saw the Nayland College A&P Show roll into town with games, kai and plenty of school spirit to celebrate the end of term one.
Nayland College ESOL programme
At Nayland College, we have students from all over the globe. Whether they are international students undergoing an exchange programme, or former refugee and migrant students who have made Nelson their home, our ESOL programme offers a safe and welcoming environment for students to engage in their learning with additional language support.
