A total of $3029.10 in profits will be donated to the Nelson Tasman Cancer Society.

Across the course of this year, Level 2 Business groups have been busy conducting market research, testing product ideas, advertising, and selling their tasty creations to fellow students and staff. As part of their assessments, they had to run two business cycles with the goal of improving their profits second time around.

The food on offer ranged from chicken wraps, pizzas and dumplings to ‘super scrolls,’ quesadillas, sushi and pizza pockets. The groups combined made a total of $3029.10 in profits, choosing Nelson Tasman Cancer Society as a most worthy recipient of their hard-earned funds. Last week, Volunteer & Events Coordinator Victoria Sharp, visited the class to be presented with their donation.

In talking with the students, Ms Sharp explained that Nelson Tasman Cancer Society do not receive any government funding, meaning they rely solely on donations so any money raised is gratefully received. She thanked the students for choosing them as their charity of choice.

Ms Sharp said the money will go towards helping cancer patients in a variety of ways such as providing counselling, yoga sessions, gym programmes, travel to appointments and resources that help them and their families as they navigate their way through their cancer journey.
