Basketball, Gymnastics , Soccer and Netball have been the focus of our sports column this week, showcasing some great individual talent and team efforts.

Basketball

Some exciting basketball updates from over the holidays.

  • Congratulations to Freddy Evans who trialed for the U15 New Zealand Men’s team over the holidays in Auckland.

  • Also a massive congratulations to Aki Collins and the U18 Nelson team for winning the National U18 title in Wellington!

  • Lastly congratulations to Freddy Evans, Santi Cuero and Kanye Robson who represented the Nelson U16 team in Auckland at nationals, coming 8th overall. Well done everyone!

Gymnastics

Logan Mosey – Reid has had a busy couple of weeks touring around the motu with some fantastic results to share!

Tri Star Senior Championships Auckland:

  • Level 6 1st overall, 1st high bar, 1st parallel bars, 2nd vault, 2nd rings.

CSG Classic:

  • 1st overall, 1st vault, 2nd floor, 1st p bars, 3rd pommel.

Wellington Champs:

  • 1st overall, 1st high bar, 1st vault, 1st p bars, 1st floor, 1st rings, 2nd pommel.

Top of The South Championships:

  • 1st overall, 1st floor, 2nd rings, 2nd pommel, 1st vault, 1st parallel bars, 1st high bar.

Soccer

Congratulations to our current and ex-students on being selected – Austin Jeffree, Brock Cotton, Jack Barlow, Levi Tijsen and Lennon Gallagher – well done!

Netball

Over the holidays Ayla Dewson and Micayla Whiti headed to Dunedin to compete in the U18 National Netball Championships. The team finished 26th overall after four days of hard mahi. Congratulations!
