On Wednesday lunchtime the canteen quad transformed into a smorgasbord of culinary delights from all corners of the globe.
Students and staff lined up to try a variety of home-cooked dishes, with some familiar and not so familiar options on offer. We did the rounds and discovered many unique treats that showcased what a wonderful multicultural community we have here at Nayland.
Samoan delicacies included pork buns, donuts, round pancakes and hot koko.
At the Taste of Sri Lanka table there were spicy and sweet treats on offer including Cutlets, Aluwa and Malupan.
On offer from Columbia were rice pudding cups and roscones (a sweet bread with guava filling).
There were many more countries represented with tasty delights including pastries, pretzels, honey cake, rice balls and rice rolls… to name a few!
Students were also encouraged to wear their cultural/national dress, which saw many choose traditional options as well as sporting uniforms and flags from their country.
