Principal’s message, Friday 18 February

Year 11 students to work from home next week.

Dear parents and caregivers

It has been a busy week for the school as we work through the contact tracing processes for students and staff that have tested positive for Covid-19.

As we have had a large number of students in Year 11 now identified as close contacts, we have made the decision that Year 11 students will move to online learning, returning to school Monday 28 February.

Working from home: all year 11 students and students isolating in other year levels

If students are well they will need to start online learning. The hub for each of our online classrooms is the class Team. This often includes a OneNote with pages of lesson activities. Students will need to take responsibility for going to the Team and finding the instructions for tasks. Year 11 teachers may provide an opportunity to touch base via a Teams meeting.

Teachers will use the ‘General – Posts’ area of the Team to let students know where to find tasks and resources. Please note that teachers will always not be able to directly contact parents or students by email to set work.  Should students need to contact a teacher by email the format is More information can be found in our Learning@Home guide.

A reminder that under current Covid Protection Framework (Red, Phase 2) settings, to become a close contact you need to have had consistent exposure (usually over 2 hours) or very close physical contact with a confirmed case. The use of masks in schools greatly reduces the risk of transmission.
