Rehearsals ramping up for upcoming musical

Hot off a Broadway revival, the Rogers and Hammerstein classic ‘Carousel’ will be performed by a group of Nayland College and Broadgreen Intermediate students at the Theatre Royal from 19-22 May. You don’t want to miss it!

Every Sunday, Monday and Thursday afternoon around 60 students from Nayland and Broadgreen Intermediate meet in the Hall to rehearse for our upcoming school show, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel. Directed by Verity Davidson with Nigel Weeks and Kay Mackenzie as Music Directors and Jana Polglase as choreographer, Carousel will enchant audiences from 19-22 May at the Theatre Royal.

Behind the scenes props are being collected and created, costumes found and sewed, set being built and painted and ideas flowing for lighting, hair and make-up.

So many hours and so much work goes into creating a big show like this and we are blessed to have such creative, talented, hardworking and keen students and staff prepared to put in the time and effort to bring it all to the stage.
