19 Aug Serious snow creates perfect conditions

Rocky snowy mountain

Level 2 and 3 Outdoor Education classes have just returned from 4 stunning days in deep snow and ideal weather conditions. The trip took them through Mt Robert ski field to Angelus Hut in the Nelson Lakes National Park. Students were assessed on their mountain expedition skills such as using ice axes and crampons, and snow caving. “It was the best conditions we have seen for years and all students worked hard on skills development and enjoyed the perfect conditions” said Outdoor Education teacher Ash Whitehead.
