12 Aug Nayland team makes it all up at Nelson Theatresports Regionals

IMG_6482On Wednesday the 30th of July Nayland College performed in the Nelson/Kahurangi Regional Theatresports competition, a night full of improvised fun and laughs for everyone. Teams from Golden Bay, Motueka, Nelson and Marlborough performed a range of theatre games for an enthusiastic Theatre Royal audience.

Nayland’s senior team The Kingsmen, comprising of Daniel Kirby, Dustin Blazek, Kacee Hutchison and Fynn Sawyer had been rehearsing together since the beginning of the year, performing games and learning to play off each other. This proved a great experience for the team who really gelled together by the time Regionals rolled around.

IMG_6481All their hard work paid off on the night. The team not only entertained the crowd with their off-the-cuff humor but also had a great night themselves. Team member Fynn Sawyer said he had an awesome night and couldn’t wait till next years competition. “Everyone should give Theatresports a go, because there really is nothing like it.”

The team came out of the competition proud of their scores and glad they gave it a go. They haven’t reached their peak yet though, so look out for them next year!
