For Kalani Sheridan, his first placing in U15 Boys 3000m was “unexpected”. Kalani also finished third in his 1500m race. Bailey Cotton put on a strong performance, winning his U16 200m final and placing 3rd in his shotput and discus events. Bailey said that a false start in his 100m final was disappointing. However, his 200m result places him 7th in NZ in the U18 Boys grade.

The team wishes to thank Denis Kale, manager, as well as Claire Nicholson, Mandy White and Jess Bygate for helping out with the event, and of course all the supporters who turned out to cheer them on.

Next on the Athletics calendar are the National Championships, held 5-6 Dec in Timaru.
