14 Oct Nayland AquaBots teams take on top of the South challenge

CAM00843Over the holidays two Nayland College AquaBots teams have been building their AquaBots, remotely operated underwater vehicles, which are now ready to launch. During the coming week both teams will be practising their skills and learning to manoeuvre their robots under water.

This coming weekend they will be participating in the NZ AquaBots Challenge, to be held on Sunday 18 October 2015 at the ASB Swimming Pool Richmond, from 9am till 10pm. There will be over 40 school teams from the top of the South competing in an obstacle course and a finesse challenge, where rings need to be picked up by the robots under water, doors need to be opened and a challenging course needs to be done as quickly as possible.
Team 1: Mathew Hopkins, Kadin Stroud, Dominic Scott, Jenifer Stratford.

Team 2: Saul Ramsay, Riley McCabe, Cody Riley, Jayvin Waters.

If you want to know more about the event, come and cheer for our teams or just want to see what these robots look like and how they work, please visit Lab3A or speak to  Mrs. de Jong.
