The highly experienced teaching staff hold specialist qualifications and are dedicated and enthusiastic. Students have the latest digital technologies to work with and access to a purpose built and fully equipped darkroom.
Photography plays an important role in our increasingly visual society. Learning about photography through experimenting with different styles, genres and techniques empowers students to express themselves and be part of the visual world.
Students are introduced to photography in the junior school via the production of Instagrams and the use of pin-hole photography.
At level 2 students learn the history of photography, traditional techniques and digital processes. Students develop their own personal body of work drawing on a wide range of contemporary and traditional approaches and influences.
At Level 3 students produce a three panel folio submission. This submission is a thematic and personal body of work. Teachers guide students through their individual programme.
