DESIGN

“The life of a designer is a life of fight. Fight against the ugliness. Just like a doctor fights against disease. For us, the visual disease is what we have around, and what we try to do is cure it somehow with design.” — Massimo Vignelli

The Art Design programme takes the students through the design process. They start from their individual skills, ideas and styles and learn how to create designs that persuade, inform or instruct a viewer and convey a message in one design. They draw, paint, photograph, illustrate, make models and use Adobe Photoshop to produce a range of print based media: Posters, magazine layouts, Logos, Typography, Illustrations, Clothing and merchandise to Game development.

Our design programme starts in the junior school where students in both the core art class and the Design Art classes are introduced to design techniques and concepts.

At level 2 students develop their own personal body of work drawing on a wide range of contemporary and traditional approaches and influences.

At Level 3 students produce a three panel folio submission. This submission is a thematic and personal body of work. Teachers guide students through their individual programme.
