Term one commenced Wednesday 1 February 2017
A settled and smooth start to the year is important. At Nayland, the staff and the Year 13 students welcome new students and staff at the beginning of the first day of the year with a powhiri in our hall.
The Year 9 and Year 13 students spend the first part of the day together. Year 9 students are given a guided tour of the school to locate their classrooms and these two groups get to know each other. The following day, the Year 10, 11 and 12 students arrive to get their start-of-year information from their Tutor teacher.
Please note: Tutor Time now replaces ‘form class’, and Tutor Teacher replaces ‘form teacher’. Tutor Time ensures that things like timetables, uniform, stationery, lockers, lunch passes and attendance procedures are organised and understood. Tutor time is also a time for forming and strengthening the relationships that are such a valuable part of our school.
Key contacts during this time for timetable issues are the year level deans (Ph 03 547 9769).
Contact the Student Support Centre for attendance and uniform queries.
Contact the Finance Office for payments and stationery queries.
