02 Nov Child Studies class cooks for Kindergarten kids
Senior Child Studies completed one of their final assessments this year by serving lunch to children from Nayland Kindergarten. Students were tasked with selecting, planning and preparing a healthy, seasonal and budget-conscious lunch for a small group.
Class teacher Gerd Banke explained that the value of the activity was in the application of health and nutrition concepts in a real setting. “The decisions students make in choosing ingredients and preparing lunches are the same as those made in families every day.”
