27 Mar Brendan Asomua-Goodman looks to develop Rugby talent at Nayland College

Nayland College welcomes Brendan Asomua-Goodman as our new Rugby Development Assistant.

Brendan was born in Nelson and has always had a passion for Rugby, not only as a player, but recently as a coach and a Rugby Development Officer.

Brendan started out as a Rugby Development Officer for the Tasman Rugby Union after graduating at Nelson College. It was in this role that he found his passion for coaching and helping kids develop into better rugby players and people. Currently in his second year of studying a Sport Coaching degree at the University of Canterbury, Brendan is hoping to attend teacher’s college once his degree is completed.

The highlight so far in Brendan’s rugby career was when he was named in the Tasman Makos wider squad last year. Following that, being named to play in the semi-final against Taranaki was also one of his biggest accomplishments.

Brendan is looking forward to developing Rugby players here at Nayland College. “I know this is a great breeding ground for athletes, and very talented Rugby players who can push for higher honours” says Brendan.
