31 Jan World Challenge Expedition to Cambodia and Thailand

During the summer break students Zoe Fitzgerald, Maya Jayasena and teacher Alana Wall were fortunate enough to trek, bus and tuk-tuk though South East Asia.

Nayland, Newland and Howick Colleges combined to form a group of 17 to experience a trip of a life time through World Challenge.

During the three weeks challengers participated in activities such as; Visiting Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, Kampong Spue Trek, Temples of Angkor Wat, community project at a village school, Umphang Trek and sites in Bangkok.

It was largely student lead, which required student to organise the groups shoe-string budget, such as sorting out transportation, accommodation and food. Because students were thrown in the deep end it resulted in them acquiring life long problem solving skills, adaptably and fully gaining from the experience.

Many new friendships were formed between the students from the three schools. A life changing experience which formed memories to cherish.

Here are just a few pictures from our venture.
