International student Artem Sharov gained national recognition as part of a winning team at the Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme Awards.
Artem , originally from Russia, studies accounting, economics and business studies here at Nayland College. It was in his business studies class when teacher Murray King noticed his strengths, as he worked as one of a team of three to develop the Easyways system. This is a communication tool that notifies students and parents of homework and assignments due.
After his successful nomination for the award, he travelled to Wellington. There he had to work in a team competing against other teams of talented entrepreneurs. Artem and his team’s winning entry was based on a business concept of charging stations for electronic cars. They each received a scholarship worth $2000 .
